MST Weekly Update
March 17, 2023

Happy St. Patrick's Day! A reminder that there is no school on Monday March 20th as it is a teacher workshop day.
This week's remote learning day went very well. Our staff did a great job explaining to the students what was expected of them. The students did their part by showing up online and completing the assigned tasks. If a student did not interact with their classes on Tuesday, it has been recorded as an unexcused absence. If we have any additional school cancellations (hopefully no more snow!), we will most likely repeat this process.
Monday is also the first official day of spring. The school year is really flying by so we are pushing all of our students to make sure they are on task and caught up in all of their classes. Monday's day off would be a great opportunity for those students who are falling behind to get some work submitted.
Senior Class Fundraiser
The class of 2023 is sponsoring a See's Candy sales fundraiser. This is a great opportunity to satisfy your sweet tooth and support the senior class. All orders will be sent directly to you. All proceeds will benefit the senior class. You can order by clicking HERE. Most of the items in our Yum-raising storefront yield a 50% return. Thank you in advance for your support!
Please support the Class of 2023 in our efforts to raise funds for the end-of-the-year activities.
Hannafords Helps MST
It's that time again! Hannifords is once again doing their Hannaford Helps Schools program and they are partnering with MST.
The 2023 program will run from March 12 through May 27.
More than 800 items have been designated with the "helps schools" label shown. For every 4 items purchased, MST will receive a $3 donation. Hannafords has worked hard to have as many relevant participating items as possible so it's easy to support your local schools while shopping for the items you love. NEW for 2023: Deposit School Dollars online using the Hannaford Helps Schools app to donate to a specific school! You can also deposit your paper receipt on the way out of the store, but that donation will be split between all participating schools. not just MST.
If you download the app, you will be asked for an email, an account password, your first name, and your zip code. You will then be asked to select a school. Please select the Manchester School of Technology. Whenever you shop at Hannafords and buy products tagged to help schools, you will get a code. The code is entered into the app and MST gets the contribution.
Please help support MST while shopping for your groceries! The top 200 schools will receive an extra $1000. We are small, but we can do it!
Winter Finale Fest
The Student Council put on its first Annual Winter Finale Fest celebration last Friday evening. It was a new twist on the traditional semi-formal. This carnival themed event was casual for some, dress up for others; and all were perfect for the occasion. 50+ students returned to school for music, games, karaoke and carnival concessions. A fun time was had by all in attendance. Unfortunately, winter was not done with us as was evidenced on Tuesday! Maybe we will do this at a later date next year?
Now onto Spring!

The Cosmetology contests were Customer Service, Job Demonstration Hairstyling, Job Demonstration Makeup' and State Pin design. We wish everyone to best of luck!!

Gold medalists have the opportunity to compete at Nationals in June in Atlanta, Georgia. Additional information is in the attachment below.
Good luck to all of our MST participants!
SAT Exams 3/22-3/24
All 11th graders at MST will be taking the SAT Exam, at no cost, on either March 22nd, 23rd or 24th. I can't stress enough about the importance of taking this exam, even if your child is not certain of college plans. In the past, many students did not want to take it during the school day only to find out later on that they needed SAT scores. At that point they have to find a testing center, take the test on a Saturday morning and pay $60 for the exam. This is a great opportunity to do this during the school day for free.
Free SAT practice is available online at Official SAT® Practice | Khan Academy.
