Principals Update Week 8
From The Desk of Rafael Balderas, Principal
Greetings Bell HS Family,
I hope this message finds you and your family in great health and sound in mind. Recently, all secondary principals met to discuss on what is the best manner in transitioning into a hybrid model, that is safe for students, teachers and families. As our school prepares for a hybrid model with a return to school at 50% or less, rest assure we are sanitizing classrooms, moving furniture, mounting hand sanitizers in each classroom, redirecting traffic flow and purchasing additional masks, gloves and cleaning supplies to ensure everyone’s safety. Although, on Wednesday, the LA County Department of Health announced we had our highest spike of Covid cases in 6 weeks! I caution that we must not let our guard down and continue with our due diligence in doing our part to reduce the spread of the pandemic. As a reminder, everyone in our learning community will need to continue to do their part by wearing a mask, watch you’re your distance and always wash your hands. We Can Get Through This!
The mid-year progress of the school semester is upon us, and it is now time to meet with our parents and students and provide support on how to complete the remainder of the school year with success. To that end, next week we will start our Fall Parent Conferences from Monday, October 12th to Thursday, October 15th afters chool from 3 to 5 pm to meet with parents on their sons and/or daughters academic progress. AS A REMINDER Parent-Teacher conferences help our families build a strong communication with their children’s teacher. During these conferences, parents and guardians will review student goals, discuss academic progress and plan for success. As a parent we value your input and believe it is important that we work as a team to support your child’s learning. Hoping to see everyone virtually next week for Parent-Teacher conferences. We Can Do This!
I remind everyone that we will continue forward with our imagination and courage and perseverance, and lift each other as a learning community! #We are Bell Family! #We are Bell Strong!
In Partnership,
Rafael L. Balderas, Principal
