Progress Reports
Progress Reports were released in the Parent Portal on Wednesday. Progress Reports are a snapshot of your child's grade at that moment, so the grade has most likely already changed. If you have questions about a specific grade, please reach out to the teacher. If you need help checking the Parent Portal or setting up alerts, please reference the Parent Portal Guide.
The end of the grading cycle is Friday, November 4th. The gradebook will close at the end of that day and Report Cards will be published the following week. Thank you for checking your child's binder/folder nightly so you'll see any assignments that need to be completed at home.
Artistically & Academically Yours,

DANCE-A-THON
DANCE-A-THON continues this week! This is PTO's greatest fundraiser of the year. The goal is to raise $25,000 to fund playground improvements, including replacing the existing mulch with new virgin rubber mulch, installing two teacher benches and a student "Buddy Bench," and adding a larger shade canopy. PTO does amazing things for TeSA, and this is the perfect time to get involved to help make a difference.
Look for the flier in your student's binder with more information and tell your friends and family to make their pledges online at: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/dat2022.
For more information of how to get involved with DANCE-A-THON and other PTO events, come to the PTO meeting on Friday or email President Jessica Wazniak at jrwozniak@gmail.com.
Red Ribbon Week & Fall Parties
Red Ribbon Week is the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention campaign. Originally, students were encouraged to wear red ribbons to show their opposition to drugs. Now, schools all across the United States dress up in various themes to bring attention to the cause. As an elementary school, TeSA will not be directly addressing drug use. Our communication with students will focus on making healthy choices.
Thank you for sending Dance/PE clothes and shoes Monday-Thursday. On Friday, students can still wear their costumes in Dance and PE, but they will need appropriate footwear.
Friday, October 28th will be our fall parties. Each grade-level team will set the time and parameters of the party and send the information through their grade-level newsletter. Kindergarten will be limited to four volunteers per homeroom, and 1st-5th will be limited to two volunteers per homeroom. All volunteers must have an approved volunteer application on file.
Discovery Fair
What is it: Discovery Fair is a combined exhibition of a Living History Museum and Invention Convention. Students who choose to participate in the Living History Museum will dress up as a historical figure (past or present) and come to life with a small monologue as that person. For students who do Invention Convention, they will create an original product complete with inventor's journal and a prototype. During the day, participants will be placed throughout the theatre and cafeteria in a museum format. The rest of the school will be scheduled times to walk through with their teachers to hear all of the amazing presentations.
Below are some pictures from last year for inspiration!
When is it: November 17th during the day AND an Evening Exhibition from 5:30-7:00 where parents are invited to attend. If students sign up, they are committing to both during the day and evening.
Who can participate: Any TeSA student K-5th can participate! Students are allowed to do groups or partners for Invention Convention. The Living History Museum should be done independently, although figures can be associated with each other. All GAP (GT) students are required to participate.
How to participate: To participate, students must fill out the Discovery Fair Participation Form by Friday, October 28th. They will then work on their project at home to be presented on Thursday, November 17th.
