Gymnastics
Our Pirate gymnasts finished off their season at the sectional meet hosted by Whitefish Bay on Friday, February 19th; they placed 7th out of 10 teams and scored a season high of 115.20. We had strong performances on all events, with beam and vault being our best. Our beam routines were some of the best this season! We stayed on and our scores reflected it; top honors went to Audrey Dickson (8.30), followed by Liz Ernest (7.95 - season high), Emma Bollech (7.60 - season high), and Gaby Ortiz (7.425 - season high). Audrey Dickson also earned top spot for the team on vault scoring 8.25 with teammates Liz Ernest and Gaby Ortiz each adding a score of 7.70 rounded out by Emma Bollech score of 7.40. Audrey Dickson (7.85), Emma Bollech (7.15) and Liz Ernest (7.025) led our floor team and our bar contributors were Audrey Dickson (7.875- season high), joined by teammates Emma Bollech, Gaby Ortiz and Alyana Alexander. Unfortunately, I felt our scores for floor and bars didn't reflect the effort and showmanship demonstrated by our gymnasts, but we ultimately achieved our team goal of scoring our highest team score in the final meet of our season. I'm very proud of the accomplishments made by these gymnasts during the season and am looking forward to building onto these next year!
