Dear Crestview Families

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and we wish you a happy & healthy new year. The Crestview staff is excited to start the 2020 school year by focusing on goal setting. All students will learn about setting a realist goal and most importantly creating a plan in order to achieve the goal.


REMINDER **CHANGE OF CLOTHES

Please make sure your child has an extra pair of pants and underwear in his/her locker in case of an accident. We have had several students get their pants wet/dirt at recess and need a change of dry pants. Thank you.


WANT TO BE A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER?

Below is information about how you can be a SUBSTITUTE TEACHER here at SCHOOL! The minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree which does not have to be in education, 3 professional references, and FBI and BCI background checks within the past 365 days. NIGHT AT THE RACES: The PTO is selling Night at the Races tickets, which is on Saturday, January 25th, 5:30-11:30 at Vell's Party Center in Medina. Event tickets are $40, to buy a horse $15, sponsor a race $100, Advertisement full page $75, half-page $50, and business card $25. Click here for more information. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help with the planning and organization for the Night at the Races. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Schulke jschulke@bcsoh.org.

At Crestview, we always want to promote kindness and going above and beyond for others. Now it is our parent's turn to do so. In order to recognize a teacher or staff member please complete this form to share positive praise about anyone on the Crestview Staff. PARENTAL CONTROL ON NEW APPLE DEVICES

If your child received a new iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and you need some tips on how to set up parental controls CLICK HERE. I highly recommend setting up SCREEN TIME especially if your child likes to spend long periods of time on certain apps or websites.


WINTER PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Not all students will have a winter conference, your child's teacher will contact you if a conference is recommended. However, if you'd like to request a conference please email the teacher. Save the Date:

READING & MATH WINTER MAP TESTING

Silver PBIS Award Winner
Crestview Elementary School has been recognized for its successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS). PBIS involves teaching students expected behaviors in a consistent and positive way, modeling and acknowledging those behaviors, and providing supports to help all students to be successful. PBIS has been shown to improve student achievement, student behavior, and school climate. Ohio started recognizing schools implementing PBIS with high fidelity in 2015. In 2019, Crestview School applied and they earned recognition at the Silver level. They are one of 230 districts and schools to earn an award. Crestview School will be honored at the 2019 Ohio PBIS Showcase.
