Tooth Truck
The Tooth Truck was in town from September through October and visited MES, CPE, MIS, MMS, and MHS. The Tooth Truck provides an exam and all possible treatment for a cavity-free smile, FREE of charge! To qualify, students must have Medicaid or not be insured. The Tooth Truck provided care to 164 students in Monett, totaling $161,010 worth of dental treatment. We are incredibly grateful for this program. Hacemos Day 2021
MHS Robotics and GO CAPS STEM were invited to participate in the Hacemos Day 2021. Hacemos Day was organized by Carol Tweedy and Elizabeth Schmoe from AT&T and Rebecca Saunders of JuniorAchievement.org. Students heard the advice of a young entrepreneur and keynote speaker, Pedro Espinoza, and his advice to pursue one's dream, network with everyone, and put yourself out there regardless of the barriers faced.
Students spent the day working with the donated EdisonBot kits. Students used the parts and provided tutorials to create loaders, cranes, and even worked with a drawing tool that draws what students program it to draw. The robots were donated and will stay in the Robotics classroom for students to continue building their skills. We thank AT&T and JuniorAchievement for inviting the Robotics and GO CAPS students to be part of the Hacemos Day 2021 event!
