A Message from the Administrative Team
Greenwood Students and Families:
The second annual Greenwood Spring Showcase was a great event and it was wonderful to see parents, students, and teachers come together to celebrate the tremendous talent here at Greenwood! Pictures will be coming next week. Thank you to GPA, our teachers, and the students for sharing their talents.
The academic calendar for 2023-24 has been finalized and will be distributed soon. The first day of classes next fall is Monday, August 21. Winter break will be 4 weeks with the second semester beginning Tuesday, January 16. The last day of classes will be Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Parents, we are always looking to improve our school and make Greenwood the best it can be. Feedback is important to us. Please go to: https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/218925/7222 and provide your thoughts on this survey. ALL parents are encouraged to respond to the survey – thank you!
There is no question that the safety of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority. We are constantly reviewing our current plans in place and updating them as possible. We participated in a safety audit last semester and the process is ongoing in partnership with David Hall, Director of University Safety. We are working on additional cameras, door security, and other safety measures. We will continue to communicate additional safety protocols as they are implemented. In the meantime, discuss with your student the importance of being safe, making good decisions, and keep in mind the slogan, see something, say something.
Parents, please check out our Amazon wish list at: https://a.co/cumRvlB We need a new basketball goal on the playground – please consider funding some of our wish list items. Thank you!

3D Print With Sand
First Grade Students created colorful 3D prints using sand and glue. Students learned about “additive manufacturing” as they built parts by adding new material, one layer at a time. The process is similar to binder jetting creating a solid three-dimensional part made from sand and glue.
