Tangram FUN
Tangrams are a great way to help students with spatial/visual skills and with geometry. I have included several links showing how to create your own tangrams with a regular piece of paper. Have fun and send me pictures of your fun Tangrams to cholt@rvusd.org.
Happy Easter
Be Safe! Shelter in Place. Stay in. Save Lives.
Counseling Corner with Ms. Candace
I am also providing counseling lessons, videos, activities, and story read alouds for students during the shelter in place. Teachers in the younger grades are sharing these materials in their SeeSaw classrooms, and I have a Counseling Google classroom I have created for the older students. If you or your child would like to check it out, the classroom code is xiy4kpb. These materials are optional and I am not grading them, but they may help students as they navigate the difficult emotions associated with the uncertain situation we all find ourselves in.
Finally, I am in the process of developing a counseling website for Village Elementary. The website will be going live on Monday, April 13 and is still a work in progress, but it is a place where parents can go to get resources on a broad range of parenting topics, as well as contact me. If you'd like to check it out, and take the survey I have created to help me check in with families and see how you are coping, you can find it at www.villagecounselingcorner.com. I will also be posting the weekly counseling materials for students on the home page of the website if you'd like to take a look. New content is posted daily.
Below I've posted one example of the type of resources you can find at the website. It is a list of brain and body breaks you children might enjoy for breaking up a long day of distance learning.
Stay safe, and please feel free to reach out if there is anything I can do to support you or your children.
