Staff Appreciation Week-May 8-12
Staff Appreciation Week is the week. of May 8th, and I am very appreciative for the Bridgewater Staff!! I would personally like to thank all of the BW Staff for their dedication and passion for our students! Teaching is more than a job, it is a life choice to serve others. It is amazing to see how much our teachers and staff care about each individual child, and find ways for them to be successful. Thank you so much!!
SCHOOL NURSE DAY--MAY 10TH
Wednesday, May 10th is School Nurse Appreciation Day! We appreciate having Nurse Lucy at Bridgewater providing daily care and a listening ear! She is amazing!
Happy Mother's Day!-May 14th
Mother's Day is right around the corner. Happy Mother's Day to all of the Bridgewater Moms!! I hope you have a special day and know that you are greatly appreciated!!
Note from Nurse Lucy
As a school nurse this is exciting news. I just found out yesterday from a parent, and called today to confirm that Cub Pharmacy does rapid strep tests without an appointment. The pharmacist I spoke to said that they cannot bill insurance for the test, ($30.00) but if it is positive, they can give you a prescription and insurance can be billed for that. She said it is a 10-15 minute wait to get the results. You do not need to schedule an appointment and it can be done during any of the hours they are open.
In the past 2 weeks we have had 13 cases of confirmed strep (and I wonder how many other kids are walking around feeling miserable, as it "runs its course"). This is great news since Urgent Care has very limited hours and it is sometimes difficult to get into a clinic the same day symptoms occur.
Stay well!
