The Bessemer City School System is encouraging students to participate in summer reading, focusing on grades 4-12. We will have a July Read-A-Thon and distribute books from Bessemer City Middle School Saturday, July 10th, 2021 from 10:00 - 12:00. Each student will receive 3 books and a book bag.

• August 6, 2021--"Kinder Kamp" (Kindergarten Orientation) 3:30-4:30 p.m.
• August 10, 2021--First Grade Meet the Teacher 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
• August 10, 2021--Second and Third Grade Meet the Teacher 8 a.m.- 9 a.m.
• August 10, 2021--Fourth and Fifth Grade Meet the Teacher 3 p.m. -4 p.m.
• August 12, 2021--FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Jonesboro Elementary will provide supplies for all of our students again this year! There are no supply lists, and there will be no trips to the supply store for parents! Yay!

Online registration has begun! Please begin registering now! Please contact the school if you have not received your snapcode(s) or if you have questions about registration. Verification documents are still needed and can be uploaded or collected as hard copies.

Dates:

• July 5th - Snapcodes were emailed to parents
• July 6th - Returning Student Registration Portal Opened
• July 6th - Snapcodes were mailed to parents

Documents Needed (Returning Students)

• Current lease or deed
• Parents' I.D.
• Two current utility bills
• Up-to-date immunization forms

Documents Needed for NEW students:

• All documents listed above
• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Records/Withdrawal papers from previous school (if applicable)

Want to know who your child's teacher will be this year? Watch out for your child's "Welcome Back to School" letter. The letter will include information regarding your child's teacher for this year! We will send these letters the last week of July!
