Dear Parents
I wanted to give a huge shout out to our parents and community for making our Fall Festival one of our most successful fundraisers this year. We could not have done this with out the support of our parents bringing the students out to celebrate the start of a new school year. We were able to raise $879.00 to split among our classes for field trips this year. A huge thank you to the Fluery family, Mrs. Surprenant and Jim Oliver. Another huge thank you to our community partnersters that came out to join us Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, Willard Library, MSU extension and comfort of homes. All raffle baskets were donated from surronding community business. Thank you to all that help make this a succesful event.

Behavior Code of Conduct
The Academy’s Code of Student Conduct is based on the premise that students require a positive, safe, learning environment that encourages learning without disruption. When a student chooses to disregard the rules of good conduct, they not only reduce their own opportunity to learn, but disrupt the learning process of others. The code of conduct includes the subcategories of social behavior and discipline, inappropriate conduct, after-school detention and unacceptable behavior/disciplinary action.
At the Academy students are expected to:
· be in attendance and punctual each school day
· be in uniform each school day
· demonstrate honesty, courtesy, kindness, and proper respect to all
· demonstrate respect for school property, as well as property of staff members, fellow students and school neighbors
· use language that is deemed acceptable at all times
· obey all classroom and school rules and regulations
· report interference with their ability to participate in and benefit from their educational opportunity
I'm pleased to announce that Kim Hommerding will be coming back this year to support Arbor as their Behavior Specialist.
2023-2024 Policies
Arbor's Uniform Policy
I would like to review the uniform policy for Arbor Academy. We have to keep the building a little cooler over the next few weeks due to testing in the computer lab. Your child can wear a sweater but it has to follow the dress code (no hood, solid gray, navy, or white sweater). All students are to be dressed neatly according to the following guidelines:
- Navy blue or khaki pants, skirts, or walking shorts (not sweatpants or blue jeans)
- White or blue shirts with collars, bearing no insignias other than the Arbor Academy logo (no crew neck T-shirts)
- Any visible undershirts must also be white (no navy polos or navy dresses)
- Navy white or gray sweaters (no sweatshirts and no hoods)
- Navy, gray or white socks or tights (solid color only)
- No open-toed shoes, crocs, heels or shoes with wheels.
*Parents will be contacted to correct the situation if a student is in violation of the dress code.
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Early Dismissal
Students who need to leave early will need to provide the office the date, time and reason for early dismissal as well as the name and number of the person picking up to contact if necessary. Also we will need to know by 3:00 if you are picking up your child early. After 3:20 we will ask you to stay in the car line and wait for your students if arrangements were not made earlier in the day. When picking up your student we ask that you stay in the office for the safety of your child and other students.
Please understand students are expected to remain in school the full instructional day (8:20-3:30 pm). We understand appointments come up and students may need to leave early. Our goal is to ensure our students are given all opportunities to learn and maximize instruction with minimal classroom interruptions.
