Assemblies Coming to Waukazoo
Waukazoo’s PTA has arranged several assemblies before the end of the school year. The following special events will be held for all Waukazoo students:
May 19 - Super U! Challenge
June 8 - The Critter Barn
The Super U! Challenge, tied in with the building and district’s PBIS outlook, is headed to Waukazoo to promote a bully-free school environment by encouraging students to build positive character traits. The participatory event will challenge students to become their own “personal superheroes” and let their best traits shine – at Waukazoo and at home.
During the 45-minute show, contestants from the audience will be invited to take part in imaginative, funny, and wacky interactive challenges that involve oversize props, creative costumes, and yes…even some slime! Each of these exciting challenges will be based on a specific message about bullying and positive character traits. Super U! Challenge will be at Waukazoo on May 19.

PBIS Pride Tickets
Waukazoo will be continuing to utilize Waukazoo Pride Tickets this year. These tickets recognize students for being Respectful, Responsible, Ready to Learn, or demonstrating Waukazoo Family Pride. Our goal this year is to reach 12,500 tickets this year. If the building reaches that goal the students will be in for a special surprise and a treat. Let’s go kids!
Pride Tickets to Date = 11,898 and counting

Physical Wellness with Mr. Metz!
Hi Waukazoo Families,
What an exciting week we have! Tulip Time is going to be a blast. In Physical Wellness students are continuing to participate in their aerobic fitness tests for the spring. Most classes will wrap up with those this week (with a few classes having to make up next week because of the weather). We are also concluding our volleyball unit and our skills have definitely improved over the last month. I'm very pleased with the improvements I've seen in our aerobic capacity based on our test results. Students are crushing these aerobic fitness tests! GO WO

Hola!
Can’t believe it is May! Second graders are gearing up for a unit on family vocabulary. Kindergarteners are having fun exploring bug words! And fifth graders are practicing Spanish numbers 100-1,000. Has your child checked out my website? There are lots of links to click on to practice Spanish at home.

Hello! I hope you’re enjoying Tulip Time in Holland! It’s interesting to hear the students telling each other about their experiences-or their hopes—of being downtown! This week I shared a short video about the tulips, Dutch Village, and Windmill Island with our Kinders and First Graders. My website will tell you about our Tulip Time Tech explorations with Tux Paint and with Pixel Art. Be sure to visit my site for more details.
I want to thank all of the Waukazoo PTA members for all of the special care you’ve shown this week! You have definitely made us all feel appreciated! You are so kind and we are very grateful for you and for your children! Waukazoo is truly a wonderful place to learn and grow!
Have a great week!
