NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Well, it's been quite a week! The flexibility and resilience of your children have been remarkable. From the moment they stepped off the bus, they were eager to begin their adventure.
We began the week with a fabulous visit from the Whalemobile. Students and staff enjoyed going inside the whale, viewing the follow-up video, and doing other related activities. On Tuesday, we held our field day in the MHS gym. I hope that you've had a chance to see some of the pictures. Our fifth-grade students, Mrs. Snell and Ms. McCauley did a bang-up job getting this together at the last minute. Thanks, PTA, for the popsicles. It was a blast. Wednesday, we were able to celebrate our former PES students that are graduating. We held our send-off parade in the MHS gym. Our specialists provided a variety of activities for students to fill the afternoon.
I know that it's been a rough week, and at this time we still don't have all of the answers, but at least we know where we'll be for the next few days.
I don't know where to begin with the thank-yous! Everyone at Morse High School has been so warm and welcoming. Mr. Varney, Mrs. Kenny, and all the students were fantastic. All the staff that is working so hard, Miss Anna who has really had to punt, Mr. Nick who always, always goes beyond for us, and our staff who have been working without many of their materials. And of course, our students and families who have had such great attitudes. Fingers crossed, we'll be home to PES soon!!
LIBRARY NEWS
ALL BOOKS ARE DUE BACK BY JUNE 9th.
The summer reading list is being compiled; please keep an eye out for it in the next few weeks. The summer reading bingo game is a fun way to participate in reading during the summer and earn a $5.00 coupon for the Scholastic Book Fair (which will be September 4th through the 8th). Bingo sheets will go home with students at the end of the year. I hope you have a great and safe summer.
YEARBOOKS GO HOME JUNE 15
Yearbooks have arrived, and they look great! Thank you, Chelsea Antoinette, for all your hard work. We will hold them here so students can have their friends sign them on Thursday and Friday next week. We ordered two extra copies, $20 each, first come, first served. Contact Mrs. Doran at tdoran@rsu1.org, if you wish to purchase one. Checks are to be made out to Phippsburg Elementary School.
