Teen Vaping Information Night
JML is a drug-free zone (where vaping devices are prohibited) and our school environment is not only a positive one for teaching and learning, but is also a safe one for All. At times, students will break the Student Rights & Responsibilities rules and bring contraband onto school property. When school officials are aware that this has occurred, we act swiftly by investigating, working with the student(s) and family(ies) involved, assigning disciplinary consequences (up to a 10 day suspension with a recommendation for review at the Central Office level), and offering interventions.
On November 15 at 6:00pm, JML will host an evening for parents and students that will review vaping and drug trends, what to look out for, and how to respond.

College Readiness & Financial Planning
Middle School is a great time to start getting information and planning for college. Please join the JML School Counseling team for our next parent presentation with The College Place and Virginia 529 on Friday, November 17th at 9:15 AM. The College Place Director Jason Puryear will be presenting This Paying for College workshop which provides helpful information for parents and students to better understand college costs in VA, federal and state financial aid, financial aid applications, and family conversations about college financial planning. These important areas of focus pave the way for preparing to pay for a college education. This workshop will also include information on the VA 529 college savings plan.
All parents are encouraged to attend. We will share their slide presentation on the JML website in the counseling section.
If you plan to attend, please RSVP here
