Planning production

The front cover image will be of a female musician in a close-up shot. She will be pictured wearing typical indie attire, such as a denim jacket, and quirky, vintage glasses. The background will be minimal, to ensure that the audiences attention is directed towards the image. I will make a border around the image with the coverlines as I have seen in professional magazines such as Q and NME.

The title of my magazine will be 'neon', and the main image will partially obscure the title. I have been inspired by NME issues that have done this, as it reinforces a strength in brand identity. The masthead will be black and white, and it will be in the top left corner of the magazine. The byline will be above the title 'neon' and it will say 'the most vibrant vibes from the indie scene'.

The article will be about the band I am interviewing. For the most part, the article will be centered around the interview that I'm conducting with the band. The image will be of the band performing at their gig, and will dominate the right hand side of the double page spread. I will include conventions like a drop capital and an enlarged quote.

I plan to keep my colour scheme minimal, with mainly white, black, grey and occasional elements of blue.
