Principal's Message...

Dear Sierra Families,

This next week our school will be collecting coins, cash, and gift cards for our neighbors at Foresthill Divide School. They are returning back to school after being evacuated, and some have lost their homes. Our amazingly caring Sierra Dragons are going to support them, and deliver some special items and well-wishes as they return. Please donate if you are able.

We NEED Guest Teachers!!

Calling all parent's with a Bachelor's Degree!! We are in need of Guest Teachers. Sign up with EDCOE and come work here, at your child's school. We pay $150/day (Full Day). The cost is $161 for fingerprinting ($89 CTC & $72 EDCOE) plus an additional $100 to file for a 30-day Emergency Permit. Thank you for considering supporting our school!

Family Resource Center

Free groceries for PUSD families at the Family Resource Center located on the Schnell campus! Stop by anytime to pick some up. On Wednesday the Clothing Closet will be open from 12-4pm and free bags of produce will also be available.

Library News

Hello Dragons!

Fall is in the air, this is my favorite time of the year as the weather and the leaves change. Soon we'll be reading books about why and how leaves change color during the Fall. For 3rd-5th grade we started reading the chapter book from the Eerie Elementary series “The School Is Alive” written by Jack Chabert and illustrated by Sam Ricks. This is a fun and thrilling read with 15 short chapters. This book is worth 1 AR point. K-2nd we read The Wonky Donkey written by Greg Smith, we used Novel Effect for extra sound effects. Fun read for our little dragons. Just a reminder that students are welcome to come to the library in the morning after 8:30am if they are cold and also at most recesses. You may come in and play with our Stem toys, read a book, or take an AR quiz. Oh, also save the date, we will have our Fall Scholastic Book Fair Oct 31st- Nov 4th. Remember, good things happen when you read!
