Highlights of the Week
What a great way to conclude the final week of this half-term—celebrating the achievements of our students across all year groups in our Celebration Assemblies. Congratulations to our highest achievers Nina-Rose Hamilton in Year 7, Israel Adeoye in Year 8, Ciaran Carter in Year 9, Avish Bhundia in Year 10 and joint winners Elizabeth Polipartov & Peter Clancy in Year 11 - you are all totally brilliant!
Last night, our Year 11s participated in their penultimate Parents' Evening, and I would like to extend my gratitude to all the parents who attended, as well as to the staff who dedicated their evening to providing essential guidance and practical advice. The discussions were extremely productive, zeroing in on bespoke actions for each student. As our Year 11s prepare for the critical year ahead, their commitment and focus are indeed palpable.
In addition to this, we were delighted to welcome over 50 Year 7 families to our Reading Event this morning. Organised by Ms Charlton, the occasion was designed to emphasise the significance of shared and guided reading for students of all ages. It served as a compelling reminder that the practice and joy of reading together should not diminish after primary school; it continues to be a vital instrument for both the intellectual and emotional development of our children. I also thoroughly enjoyed my classroom visits this week, and it was truly heart-warming to see some of our year 8 students completely immersed in the joy of shared reading with their teachers. If you’d like to see some more suggestions from Ms Charlton please check out her short video on our social media pages.

Spotlight on PE
I would like to highlight the performances of our football teams, who have performed very well this term, especially the Year 8 boys who currently sit in second place in their group with one game to play. Elsewhere, the girls table tennis team enjoyed success with a third-place finish in the Borough Table Tennis tournament, and the Netball team has played some closely contested games in their league.
Autumn term 2 signals the start of the basketball season for all our teams.
Finally, I would like to congratulate the following students on being Sports Performers of the term: Lily Mitchell (Year 7), Joseph Bolog (Year 7), Jessica MacGregor (Year 8), Adam Djerdjar (Year 9), Dasha Maliuk (Year 10), and Leo Walsh (Year 11).
