Returning Teacher Spotlight: Carrie Haase
Prior to returning to school to study art education, ceramics teacher Carrie Siegfried-Haase was primarily self-taught as a silversmith and certified in jewelry repair. She sold her jewelry at craft fairs and festivals in Arkansas, Missouri and Ohio and won Best in Show at Bella Vista's 2011 annual juried craft festival. Her work was also available for sale for many years in the museum shop at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
In 2015, Haase’s interests turned to acrylic painting and mixed media and sharing the power of creativity with others through one-on-one coaching and teaching workshops in both painting and metalsmithing. Haase’s current work focuses on both sculptural and 2-dimensional art that is larger in scale than her earlier jewelry pieces but continues with her theme of everyday life.
Mrs. Haase has a collection of work on display at Rogers Experimental House titled “2020 Through the Lens of an Artist, Mother, and Art Educator”. The work is about Covid and mental health and will be on display through November. You can find her artist statement below.

Parent Sponsorship
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to reach out to you with an opportunity to support Arkansas Arts Academy arts programs as we continue to nurture our student's artistic talents and creative spirit. Our commitment to fostering excellence in the arts is unwavering, as a strong arts education enriches the lives of our students and contributes to their personal growth and development. This sponsorship initiative allows us to partner with parents and sponsors by providing more to our students more meaningfully.
Sponsors may contribute to the overall arts programming or choose a specific arts department to support directly.
- Overall Arts Programming: Your generous donation will support a wide range of arts disciplines, including visual arts, music, dance, theater, and more. These funds will enhance our facilities, provide essential equipment and materials, and offer opportunities for students to engage with guest artists and performers.
- Arts Department Sponsorship: If you have a particular interest in a specific area of arts concentration, – such as visual arts, music, dance, theater, or any other discipline, you can donate to that area. This targeted support will enable us to develop and expand departments and provide our students with specialized training, resources, and experiences.
In appreciation of your support, we are pleased to inform you that the names of all sponsors and businesses will be prominently listed in programs for all arts events throughout the academic year. Your contribution, whether large or small, will significantly impact the quality of arts education we can provide at Arkansas Arts Academy.
When you choose to support the arts at our school at the $600 mark or above, your name or business will be prominently displayed on our "Wall of Appreciation" within the school premises as a tribute of your commitment to fostering creativity and artistic excellence among our students.
We understand that everyone's financial situation is unique, and we genuinely appreciate any support you can offer.
To participate in this sponsorship initiative, please visit our website at artsk12.org, submit your payments on mypaymentsplus, or complete the enclosed donation form and return it to the school office. Your donation is tax-deductible, and we will provide you with a receipt for your records.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Arkansas Arts Academy as we continue to educate and encourage your children through the arts. Together, we can ensure our students continue to thrive and excel in their artistic endeavors.
With warm regards,
Amy Kessler
