NOTICE TO OWNERS, TENANTS, AND VENDORS
Parking Permit Policy
As most of you are aware, we have recently implemented a policy at Bermuda Bay requiring every vehicle to prominently display a current parking permit. This includes vehicles that are under covers, for guests, for tenants, and for all visitors.
In order to streamline compliance, owners of covered vehicles are encouraged to acquire a free parking sticker, specifically designed to be placed on the vehicle cover. However, there are still a handful of vehicles that do not have the required sticker on their covers.
If you own a covered vehicle or if you know who does, we strongly urge you to relay this information to the appropriate parties. Encourage them to visit the office at their earliest convenience to obtain the free laminated tag, designed for the outside of the vehicle cover.
We kindly ask for your cooperation in sharing this information with your tenants, to ensure everyone is aware of the new policy and adheres to it promptly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
Juliet Mee, LCAM
BYE BYE UNUSABLE BIKES
Cindy Hansen and Gail Cunningham jumped in and cleaned up the bicycle racks. The new policies are in place to prevent further abuse of those areas. We had four areas where bikes had been left unusable and taking up spaces...you now need to identify your bike with unit number if you wish to store in in a bike rake. Be sure it is appropriately locked up and identified.

REMEMBER WHAT SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT GO IN THE TRASH AND ALUMINUM CAN CONTAINER
HOW TO DISPOSE OF HOUSEHOLD TRASH AND ALUMINIUM CANS AT BERMUDA BAY CONDOMINIUMS
Our complex has a large household-trash only container that compacts the trash, and we have a small metal bin that accepts only aluminum cans.
How to use the large household-trash-only container/compactor:
As you are facing the front of the compactor you will see a small door on the left side that has a handle. This is the trash access door. Pull down on the handle and open the door.
Throw only your household trash into the compactor. If the contents in the compactor are higher than, or level with, the bottom edge of the door frame, firmly close the door after disposing of your trash and then turn on the compactor mechanism.
If the trash level is lower than the bottom of the door frame, firmly close the door and leave.
To turn on the compactor mechanism, go to the opposite side of the compactor and walk toward the rear of the compactor. You will now see an electrical panel box with several buttons.
Firmly push the green button. The compacting mechanism should start and you will notice a loud noise. If the mechanism does not start, check the trash access door to make sure it is firmly closed and the handle is securely latched.
The compactor mechanism will take several minutes to complete its work. You do not have to stay while this is happening.
If you have followed the above instructions and the mechanism did not work, notify the office.

Educational Lecture on Shore Birds
A Word from our Property Manager
May18,2023 - Read at the board meeting by Juliet Mee
Tonight, I stand before you as a condominium manager with only one month’s experience under my belt, ready to embark on a journey with all of you towards a brighter future. Just like a fine dining experience, our path may have its ups and downs, its appetizers and main courses, but I assure you that if we work together, we will savor the taste of dessert.
Before we dive into the "meat" of the problems, let me take a moment to reflect on the beginning of my time here.
Once, I was a resident of Bermuda Bay, not bound by the responsibilities of this position. It was a time when I savored the joys of being part of this community. But now, as the manager, my role has transformed, and I'm here to ensure that Bermuda Bay becomes a clean, safe, and friendly haven for all. Please do not assume you know what will happen, or what I am going to say or do. This is not intended to be a lecture or a demand, although some may choose to see it that way. It is a serious refection, a window of opportunity to bring positive change to our community.
Let me be transparent: we currently face challenges in maintaining legality and operating prudently. It's as if we have a farmhand who can drive within the farm but forgets they need a driver's license on the highway. To save us from ourselves, certain measures need to be taken. Incremental change is not our ally; we need quick changes to navigate this difficult and dangerous path we find ourselves on. Since starting this role a month ago, I have dealt with preventable emergencies every single day. These emergencies are not only disruptive, but also costly, and unfortunately, we are not insured for any of them. We must face them alone. This is where I seek your understanding and support, as there may be proposals I present to
the board that require immediate action rather than gradual implementation. I understand that such changes may bring about pain for some of you. We must acknowledge that selective enforcement of rules and perks has created an environment that needs rectifying. It is time for fairness and equal treatment for all, leaving behind the practices that divide us. We need a completely different attitude towards risk, reward, education, and implementation to set things right.
Before I conclude, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you who have supported me in my first month here. Brandy and the team at CA, my dedicated employees Jimmy, Christine, Robert and Aiden. Tori, your dedication and commitment have been instrumental in my initial success. I won't mention those who have posed challenges; they know who they are. In the meal, they have been like a sour pickle that cleansed my palate!
Speaking of our employees, it is crucial that we provide them with a career path rather than merely a job. My experience has taught me that people leave due to burnout, disrespect, and low pay. Unfortunately, we have been serving up all of these things to every employee here, except for me. Regardless of what changes we make, we will be left with only three of us by June 1. I will need to hire people to replace Robert and Aiden. But as the new
employees come in, let’s change course and create an environment where our employees can thrive.
As we look ahead, I want to leave you with a hopeful message. Together, we have the power to overcome the challenges that lie before us. By working as psychologically sound adults, embracing quick change, and ending selective practices, we will shape a future that we can all be proud of. Remember, every successful meal ends with a dessert and coffee or tea with a petit four. Let us have faith that our journey will lead us there.
Thank you for your time and for being part of this community.
