Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
April 21, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
Our students who have been taking the End of Course assessments have done a great job staying focused and approaching them with their best effort. Our teachers have worked hard to help them feel confident, and we are seeing the payoffs as test days approach. We will wrap up End of Course testing next week with our Algebra I End of Course assessments on Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26. These two days are delayed-start days for those students who ARE NOT taking the Algebra I test. If students are enrolled in Algebra I, they must arrive at school at regular time and take these state-required tests.
Students in grades 8-11 began the scheduling process this week. This is always a sign that we are turning the page into their next school year! The fall of 2023 will prove exciting for Batavia High School as we will be opening the new building. We will be sure to communicate all opportunities for students to tour the buildings and participate in activities prior to the start of the school year, so make sure you are checking your emails and watching the district website as well as social media.
With May comes the wrap up of many activities and celebratory events for students. Please help them be present in the moment, stay safe, and enjoy themselves.
Have a great weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

BHS Spanish Honor Society partners with BMS Students
This week, Batavia High School’s Spanish Honor Society partnered with the Batavia Middle School’s Peers Engaged in Enlightening Perspectives (PEEPS) group to explore the Spanish options at Batavia High School as well as offer encouragement to the students to become a part of the Spanish National Honor Society. Our BHS students enjoyed the experience and a positive partnership was established. Thanks to Mr. Scheel, Mrs. Wells and Mrs. Pryor for organizing this event for the students. We are looking forward to BMS joining us at Bulldog Place and can’t wait to partner more with them!

End of Course Testing
End of course testing has begun and will continue for three more weeks after we return from spring break. To meet graduation requirements in the state of Ohio, a student must take end of course tests in 6 courses; Algebra I, English 10, Biology, US History, Government and Geometry. These tests are extremely important and students should be well rested and prepared to test.
