Character Building in WIN Time
Students returned to WIN Time this week for the first time this semester. WIN (What I Need) time is used to provide intervention, acceleration and character building for our Razorbacks. The campus focuses on three areas during WIN Time: Math support, Reading support and social emotional learning. This week we provided 2 SEL options for students.
- One Word Challenge: https://jongordon.com/newsletters/one-word-challenge-for-2024/
- What are the qualities of a Razorback? Provide students the question above and have them complete a quick write silently for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes, have the students share with a partner or small group and find the traits they have in common. Give students 5-7 minutes to share. Finish with each group sharing out and creating a class chart with the qualities of a Razorback.
Rodeo Palms staff completed the One word Challenge during professional learning on January 3rd. Both SEL lessons will continued to be incorporated throughout the semester. This is also a great conversation starter to have with your students to see what word they chose or what they believe are the qualities of a Razorback.
