Lindsey Update
December 2, 2022
Are you interested in participating in the spelling bee?
Don't forget to register with Mr. Kulp the deadline is approaching fast.
Hello Parents and Spellers,
I am in the process of planning for the Lindsey Elementary School Building Level Spelling Bee. There are two building level rounds. The first round will be administered using the Scripps National Spelling Bee online testing platform, and will take place on Wednesday, December 14, during school hours. It is open to any interested 4th or 5th grade student. Should a speller qualify to the 2nd round of the Lindsey Building Bee, you and the speller should be aware that it will take place in person in early January. After speaking with your child, if they are interested in participating, please email me with the following information: Students FIRST and LAST name, grade level, homeroom teacher’s name, and the best email address to reach you, the parent. The deadline for notifying me of your child’s participation is Wednesday, December 7. This is a hard deadline and I will not accept participants after this date. Once I receive all participant emails, I will send out information regarding the online registration process.

Wonderful Wonderbooks in the Library
Are you interested in becoming a substitute teacher and/or substitute proctor?
If you, or anyone you would recommend, is interested in substitute teaching in West Geauga Schools, please contact Lisa Porter at 729-6818 for information. The district is willing to pay for the fingerprint background check required to obtain the permit. We will also accommodate your wishes with regard to building assignments so that you will be comfortable with the age level of the students for whom you will be responsible.
Dress for the weather
School Dress Code:
Dress Code:
As the weather is changing we would like to remind you of dress codes standards at the elementary schools. The primary responsibility for school dress and grooming rests with the parents of our students. Clothing should be in good repair, neat, clean and free of large (and multiple) holes.
Footwear that damages school floors may not be worn. Shoes must be closed-toe, fit securely on feet, and protect feet during recess activities. High heels are not appropriate in the elementary setting.
Hats, caps, hoods or head covers of any kind are not to be worn in the building unless it is part of a classroom or school-sponsored event.
Shorts are allowed but must be appropriate and in good taste. Teacher and/or administrative discretion shall determine whether shorts are appropriate
Bare midriffs, tank tops, muscle shirts and transparent shirts, and spaghetti-strap tops are not permitted. Undergarments should not be visible. Revealing clothing is prohibited.
School Fees Due:
Don't forget please make sure that you have paid your school fees. We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions or need assistance please email Mrs. Clucas at colleen.clucas@westg.org.
You can pay by check made payable to West Geauga Local Schools and send in to the office, or you can also pay online in Infinite Campus if that is more convenient for you.
Also, if you need the application for free and reduced lunches it can be found on Infinite Campus. Families who qualify also have reduced or no school fees.
TRANSPORTATION
You can reach the transportation department at 440-729-0026 Option 2.
Email suzanne.steinhoff@westg.org
Please remember that students can only ride on their assigned bus to and from school due to unexpected bus changes, capacity, etc. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
End of day Transportation
The form is open 4pm to 9:30 am daily. Please note that the last pickup for the school day is 2:45pm due to parking lot congestion with cars and busses. Please try to make it before 2:45pm, we appreciate your cooperation.
If you are going to pick your student up from school at the end of the day, you will need to fill out the Elementary Transportation Form with that information. You can find the form on the Elementary webpages under the "menu" icon and parent resources. Just look for "Elementary Transportation Form," fill it out, and hit submit. We will no longer be accepting any paper requests. https://forms.gle/LtqvuWhWytsniVkf7
Please make sure the form you are using has 22-23 school year at the top.
You will use this form for end-of-day transportation, as well as early release from the school. If you have any questions, please contact colleen.clucas@westg.org, and she can assist you.
Want to Volunteer? PTO can always use your help.
Here is a link to a Signup Genius to allow parents to sign up for committees that you might be interested in volunteering for within PTO.
If you signed up at orientation for a committee you are all set.
We just want to make sure we haven't missed anyone that wanted to volunteer.
