A Message from your Principal

Dear Archer Glen,

The Fun Run today was a success! The weather was kind and the kids had a lot of fun. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and PAC for putting on this event, and thank you to everyone who came out to cheer on our runners. If you are interested, Fun Run donations can still be made by check (payable to Archer Glen PAC), cash, or online. Check and cash can be collected using the donation envelope, which is due Monday, October 1st. Online donations are made at www.pledgestar.com/archerglen.

Archer Glen Passport Club

This year, all students (K-5) at Archer Glen Elementary have the opportunity to explore the world through a program called The Passport Club - which is an effective and fun way to help achieve geographic literacy.

Each child receives a passport and chooses an individual level of study. On monthly Check Days they show their knowledge and collect “stamps” for their passport as they learn some or all of the world’s countries over the course of the school year.

Club members meet once a month before school. Register by October 1st, 2023 and receive your Study Packet at the Passport Club Meet & Greet on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd.

Archer Glen Chess Club

Archer Glen will once again offer a Chess Club for students! Chess Club will meet on Thursdays starting promptly at 7am and will dismiss by 7:45am. Classes will begin on October 12th and will continue until early May (there will be no meetings on non school days). Cost for the season is $25 and includes a club t-shirt. STEM Request

STEM is in need of paper towel tubes for an upcoming 1st and 2nd grade project. If you have any at home, please have your students drop them off in front of the STEM room or during their STEM day.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon!

October 19th-25th | Students will be able to shop during their scheduled library time.
October 26th | Parents can shop during Conferences from 8:00am - 7:30 pm.

Volunteer Background Checks

Every volunteer in Sherwood School District must have a criminal background check completed each school year (July 1-June 30). Background checks take 7-10 business days to process. Background checks are required for each school year, so background checks completed prior to July 1, 2023 are not valid for the 23-24 school year.

Once your background checks clear, names are added to the approved volunteer list for all SSD schools. Please note: no approval notice goes out to cleared volunteers, so if you have questions about your submission or want to confirm your background check has been processed and approved, please contact the office of the school you would like to volunteer
