MAINTENANCE / GROUNDS / TRANSPORTATION

  • The grass, clover, and weeds are growing so our grounds guys are staying busy with mowing, edging, trimming, and spraying.

  • The Finley-Oates roofing and flooring contracts have been signed and will be scheduled for as soon as students are out for summer break. The roofing company may complete the work on the cafeteria and gym during the month of May.


  • The electrical was added to the dugout at the baseball field and Jim is installing the wiring for the new LED signs at Bailey Inglish.


  • New door alarms will be installed to doors that are not hallway corridors at BHS to sound when doors are held open.

  • The Finley-Oates gutters have been redirected to the underground pipes and the guttering company is repairing some other guttering issues around the campus.


  • Additional sidewalks were added to the baseball field and we will be adding sod very soon.


  • We have received the LED lights for the tennis courts and they will be installed soon.


  • We are starting to use air conditioning so Mike has been repairing units and visiting with Verigy to quote replacement units where needed.

TECHNOLOGY

  • We have a new tech person by the name of Carlito Tobias and he is doing great job!

  • Point-to-Point Wi-Fi for the softball, baseball, and tennis areas was installed on Monday, March 13th. Thank you to Mike and Daniel for using their first day of Spring Break to get this work completed.


  • Our Team has been working on getting all the Chromebooks repaired and ready for state testing. Stephanie has been working with Instructional Coaches and Mrs. Buckaloo on getting apps prepared for, STAAR, ACT, and AP tests.

  • Mike and Daniel have been tweaking our firewall to amp up network security.

  • Our Team met with Aruba Access Point Customer Service to harden our wireless security and Digital Watchdog to learn about their security camera options to potentially improve our current system.

  • The entire tech team is attending a Tech Consortium meeting on Wednesday, April 12th at Melissa ISD.
