Remote Learning Information
Pontiac Elementary School: March 18-31, 2020
A message from our principal, Dr. Barber
Dear Pontiac Elementary Parents,
Although we can never replace the value of traditional instruction, we are committed to supporting our students while they are out of school during the COVID-19 school closure (March 16-31, 2020). Richland Two’s elementary students will engage in remote learning by completing a work packet specific to their grade level. The work packet contains assignments correlated with the South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards.
There are three options for you to obtain your child’s work packet:
Option 1: Click your child’s grade level below. Download and print the pages of the packet. Please be advised that you don’t have to print the whole packet at once. You can print pages as you need them each day. Please e-mail your child’s homeroom teacher to let him/her know that you have printed/plan to print the packet.
Option 2: Pick up a hard copy of the packet from Pontiac Elementary. You may pick up your child’s packet tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18 in the car rider line. We will practice social distancing and have these ready to distribute through the car windows, similarly in fashion to a drive through. We will distribute these printed packets during the following times tomorrow:
7:30am-9:00am
12:00pm-1:30pm
4:00pm-5:30pm
Keep in mind, magnet families and choice families must either choose Option 1 or 2 as our buses will only deliver packets within our school zone.
Option 3: Request that a hard copy of the packet be delivered. On Thursday, we will deploy school buses to run bus routes and bring hard copy packets to bus stops. You may visit a bus stop to pick up a packet for your child. The schedule for bus delivery will be available by Wednesday.
If you are choosing Option 2 or Option 3, please click HERE to access the Remote Learning Packet Preference Form, and indicate which option you are choosing.
Students will submit the completed assignments to their teachers when school resumes.
