Students will examine photographs and artwork from the Museum’s collections to document people and events connected to President Kennedy and the 1960s. They will then create an artwork that documents their own lives and their connections to history.
Wintry Wonderland

Wild & Wacky Weather

People on the Panhandle-Plains have adapted to weather for centuries. Come along with our friendly cricket, Thomas J, and learn all about wild and wacky weather. This science-based program will help your students understand what causes weather like blizzards, dust storms, floods, and tornadoes, and learn how to prepare for severe weather and which plants and animals live in different climate zones.

America Goes to War: Industrial Production Key to Victory

This lesson is designed to provide fifth graders with an overview of key events that led to the United States entering WWII. Students will also kinesthetically experience the dramatic production differences between the U.S. and Japan that contributed to America's victory. The intent of this lesson is for students to have an eye-opening realization about the differences in industrial production between America and Japan.
Let’s Talk Sharks!
Presented by Texas State Aquarium

Students will observe shark biofacts and explore how a shark’s skeleton, jaws, teeth, skin, and camouflage make them top predators. We will look at common shark species in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean as well as view our resident sharks live from the Texas State Aquarium. Why shark conservation is important will also be discussed, along with what scientists and aquariums are doing to conserve these mysterious animals.
