Update for BSD families, staff and community members
Monday the U.S. Supreme Court is hearing arguments in the Kennedy v. Bremerton School District case. We expect the court to issue a decision by the end of June. The District's attorneys are in Washington, D.C., overseeing this lawsuit. Superintendent Leavell and the rest of our administration, teachers and staff remain right here in Bremerton, where we continue to focus on providing the best possible education for all Bremerton students.
The Bremerton School District respects the rights and religious freedom of all our students, their families, and District staff, and we remain committed to ensuring that our schools continue to be welcoming, inclusive environments where all can learn and grow. For more information about this lawsuit, visit: https://www.au.org/bremerton.
Please join us for a day of community service
be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide event to show the Bremerton Community and the City of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students.
BSD students, staff, families and volunteers will gather at Evergreen Rotary Park the morning of Saturday May 14, and then break-up into teams to clean up downtown Bremerton (We want the city looking good for the annual Armed Forces Day parade and celebration!). Afterward, we will gather back at the park and enjoy lunch provided by Seaside Church.
All participants receive a FREE t-shirt too (supplies limited so get there early!). If you've participated in the past and still have your t-shirt, please wear it and you'll be entered into a drawing for prizes!
We invite all Bremerton School District students, families, staff, and friends to join us for this day of service - and fun!

Youth Digital Wellbeing for Parents
Many parents struggle with balancing children’s time spent in the digital world. It’s not easy to know how much time on technology is too much and how to set boundaries that don’t create conflict.
You are invited to a conversation with a digital wellbeing expert to learn some practical solutions to our everyday concerns and challenges around our kids’ use of screens and their mental health. Come together with other families for a facilitated discussion by a FamilySmart Parent Peer Support Worker.
These 'in the know' events are hosted by FamilySmart and are for parents & caregivers who are parenting a child or youth with a mental health and/or substance use challenges. We watch a video and share experiences and strategies that help in the hard moments and focus on strengthening our understanding and connection with our kids.
