Early Life
Jimi Hendrix was born James Allan Ross Hendrix but he was referred to as Al. He was born in Seattle on June 10, 1919. At one point in his life he was in the Army but went AWOL to see his infant son in Seattle. He was locked up for 2 months without trial. Hendrix got into music at a young age when a social worker asked his school to start a music program for underprivileged children. And when they did he got into music very quickly.
