Relay For Life University
Week 5 | Team Development
Relay is a Team Event to Fight Cancer
This week is focused on all aspects of Team Development. Team Development is one of the most critical elements of success and growth of Relay because without teams, there is no Relay For Life event. Team Development involves the recruitment, retention, mentoring and recognition of teams in Relay For Life events.
Team Development is not just about recruiting and retaining teams. It’s about building relationships with your teams and their team members through training and support. It includes connecting with all of your teams and helping them find personal meaning in their efforts.
What you will focus on for Week 5...
Team Development and the Org Chart....
Below you will see the small part of the Relay For Life Committee Organizational Chart that we will focus on for this week. When we talk about Team Development, we are talking about the work that the Team Retention & Mentoring Chair and their sub-committee and the Team Recruitment Chair and their sub-committee will complete.
Did you know...
It takes on average 10 Nos to get 1 Yes. That means to recruit 10 new teams, you need to ask 100 people. See why a subcommittee is so important!
