BACK TO SCHOOL ONY UPDATE
August 25th, 2023
Welcome Back for the 2023-2024 School Year!
To our Students, Families and Community Members:
Staff are officially back from their summer vacations and are busily preparing to welcome back our students for 2023-2024 school year. It is always amazing to me how classrooms transform over the course of a few days. Creativity is alive and we can't wait to share the excitement with our students!
Communication is key to building relationships and as your new Superintendent it is my hope to continue to provide timely and up to date information to help our families stay informed with our district. Below are some new things we are doing to help keep you informed!
- The district website has a new platform! Our domain is the same: www.onysd.wednet.edu but we have upgraded to be able to deliver the best information in the quickest way possible. We are still working on updating links every day so please be patient as we make it the best it can be!
- We have a Facebook page! Like our page at Onalaska School District #300. Here we'll post important information, fun updates and student celebrations! Be sure to share to help our page grow!
In this newsletter, I've provided important information to help our families navigate the first few weeks of the 2023/24 school year.
Enjoy the rest of summer break, see you soon! Please read on for key dates and information.

We look forward to connecting with our students and families!

Food Service Information
Free Meals for All Students
Our school is participating in a federal program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This program allows all children in our school to eat at no charge. CEP Benefits our Students and Families by ensuring all children have equal access to nutritious meals. It eliminates the meal costs for our families and reduces the stigma around school meals. School meals improve student attendance and improve test scores.
As a part of this program, we will no longer be collecting Free and Reduced-Price Applications every year, instead, we must collect the Family Income Survey. This form helps us collect household information for all students attending CEP schools. Without this information, Onalaska Schools could lose important state funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. The family income survey can be found online in Skyward Family Access or by clicking the graphic to the left for a PDF copy.
We are excited to offer meals at no charge to our students and appreciate your help.
