Superintendent Update

After a thorough hiring process, which included interviews with administrators, staff and parents, I am pleased to introduce two talented individuals to join our LASD administrative team. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Carrie Bosco, our new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, and Erik Walukiewicz, our new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services.

Please read below for a brief note of introduction from each of them.

I am thrilled to join the Los Altos School District as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.

Through my interview process, I have learned LASD is committed to the success of its students and values strong, positive relationships with teachers, staff, parents and the community. These are values I share and am committed to continuing as your new Assistant Superintendent.

My experience as a teacher, principal and administrator have taught me that all educational decisions must be student centered. My recent roles as Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction/Human Resources and Director of Special Education and Student Services in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District allowed me to deliver student-centered and personalized education that helped every student succeed to their highest potential.

I am honored to be part of Team LASD and look forward to meeting you.

It is an honor to join the Los Altos School District as your new Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. I have served in various roles in public education including as a teacher, a coach and an assistant principal before transitioning to a district office role in financial and facilities management. I served as Coordinator of Safety and Operations, Director of Facilities and Director of Business and Fiscal Services at the Fremont Union High School District prior to my new role here at LASD.

I have dedicated my career to education to experience the joy of helping students reach their full potential. I am thrilled to join LASD's innovative and dedicated community that is equally as committed to every student's success. I look forward to meeting everyone and supporting the mission and goals of LASD.

Thank you to all of those who participated in our 2021-22 school year parent survey. We had an overwhelming response, with over 1300 participants in both English and Spanish from all schools in the district.

We thank you for your invaluable feedback to help us understand what we're doing well and where we might improve. We are pleased with the very positive feedback we received from our families regarding our teachers, programs and students’ educational success and emotional well-being. We will continue evaluating your feedback over the summer to make any necessary changes in our educational approach to best serve our students and families.
