Dear 9GC Families,

We have made it to the month of thankfulness. As I reflect on the past few months at the Grade Center, I cannot help but have immense gratitude. There are countless reasons to be thankful, starting with the unwavering commitment shown by our dedicated faculty and staff toward each of our students and your families. We are deeply appreciative of your trust in us, allowing us to work together with you to pave the way for your student's success and to nurture their curiosity, and igniting their full potential. I am also filled with gratitude for our remarkable students, their perseverance, and their willingness to entrust us with their learning.

Likewise, as we enter this first full week of November, we would like to acknowledge and highlight the significance of our Veterans as we approach Veterans Day. To all of those who have served or have family members in the armed forces, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for the selflessness and bravery exhibited by these remarkable individuals.

As a 9th Grade Center, we want to celebrate the spirit of unity and gratitude that binds us together. It's truly a Great Day to be a Spartan!

Important Events in November

9GC - Educator of the Year - Ms. Jaime Lee

We're excited to introduce our 9GC Teacher of the Year for the 23-24 academic year, Ms. Jaime Lee. She's been with Bixby Public Schools for 16 years and has been a part of the 9GC family since its very beginning in 2014. She's a true gem, and we're lucky to have her! Ms. Lee is a passionate and dedicated social studies teacher, who also serves as the freshman class sponsor. Ms. Lee is a true example of what it means to serve kids, families, and her fellow colleagues. Our community would be hard pressed to find someone who cares more about serving and loving students. Ms. Lee is also our resident sunshine expert, spoiling staff and helping connect our families to all things 9GC. Please help us in congratulating Ms. Jaime Lee on a well deserved honor of representing the 9GC this year as our teacher of the year!

Junior Achievement (JA) Finance

On Oct 24-27, the 9GC took approximately 400 9th-grade students to the Tulsa Tech Peoria campus to participate in the JA Finance program. This program gives students the chance to simulate what it is like to be an adult for a day in terms of budgeting finances. It also fulfills the personal financial literacy requirement for graduation. We would like to thank the parents and others who volunteered their time on one of the days to help make this a success for our students. We would also like to thank Chick-fil-a for donating sandwiches for student lunches on each day. Our students had a great day of learning.
