Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
March 31, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
It’s always a great feeling for students the Friday before Spring Break. The halls are just a bit louder and everyone is counting down the minutes for the 2:20 bell! We certainly wish everyone a restful break and encourage our young people to put down the technology from time-to-time. It will do wonders for them!
We also want to compliment our sophomores who took the English II End of Course Assessment this week. They came prepared and were focused throughout both parts of this graduation-mandated assessment. Thank you, families, for your part in supporting your students and encouraging them to do their best! I’m super proud of our English teachers who’ve been strategically working to prepare our students for this assessment.
Notice some of the important items in this newsletter. We will have a very full April and May upon our return from break, so we will try our best to pack a lot of information in our “upcoming important dates” section.
Also, I wanted to let you know that most of our staff will be on spring break April 3-10. Please understand that if you reach out, the response may be delayed as we are trying to give employees a much needed break. I also want to mention that the next BHS Express will be sent out on Friday, April 14.
We are happy to wish our students a wonderful break but will certainly miss them. Stay safe and enjoy some time with one another.
In service to our Bulldogs.

End of course testing has begun and will continue for three more weeks after we return from spring break. To meet graduation requirements in the state of Ohio, a student must take end of course tests in 6 courses; Algebra I, English 10, Biology, US History, Government and Geometry. These tests are extremely important and students should be well rested and prepared to test.
