Hello Eagle Crest Families!

We are officially at the halfway point in the school year, and we have a few big celebrations to share! We completed our reading challenge, by reading 260,000 minutes collectively since August. Each week, one student per classroom was awarded a free book (thank you PTO!) and our students grew as readers and learners. We also met our collection goal in support of the OUR Center by collecting over 2000 items for people in need in our community. Throughout the drive for the Our Center, we have been making connections between our school motto, “We are Leaders. We help build a better world.” and how we can serve our community by giving back. I am proud of our students and I appreciate your support.

I hope that you are ready for a Winter Break full of fun times, relaxation, and adventure with family and friends. I am looking forward to our return in 2023, as we continue to grow as leaders and learners here at Eagle Crest!

Hello Eagle Crest Families!

​​I hope you have a wonderful Winter Break with happy, safe, and healthy holidays! If you are looking for ways to keep your children reading over break, SVVSD has two great programs accessible in ClassLink. The first is Sora, our digital library with almost 37,000 ebooks and audiobooks. Students check out books from this catalog just like a regular library. The second option is myON, a digital on-demand catalog with more than 7,000 books at various levels and interests. All books in myON can be read aloud, and the top myON readers at Eagle Crest will earn a prize in the district-wide reading challenge!

Dear Eagle Crest families,

Thank you for bringing in your Longmont Dairy milk caps. We turned in about 4,500 caps this week, which helps fund enrichment programs at our school.

On January 24th at 8 PM, we are hosting a virtual Family Tech Talk with an internet safety expert from Trend Micro. The link will be sent out in January.

We will be announcing open PTO board and committee positions in the new year if you are interested in volunteering.

It’s hard to believe, but it is already time to register for Kindergarten for the 23-24 school year. If you have a child who will be turning 5 on or before Oct. 1st please submit an online registration for the 2023-2024 school year. More information can be found on the SVVSD website. While registration is ongoing, it is helpful to have our Kindergarten students register early for planning purposes.

Students in K-5 who are currently open enrolled at Eagle Crest do not need to complete the process again to continue attending for next year. Current 5th grade students who are open enrolled and who would like to attend Altona will need to complete the process again since it is a new school. The Preschool Department is excited for the opportunities that Universal Preschool will bring to our community. Join the Preschool Department for an open house-style information event at either the Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools or Spark! Discovery Preschool on January 17.

Our Nutrition Services Department is looking to enhance their menu and support students with special dietary needs. Please complete this survey (English / Spanish) and consider joining their new Parent Advisory Committee. The first virtual meeting is January 25th.

We have an opening for a PART TIME Preschool Paraeducator in our wonderful Pre-K classroom. We are specifically looking for someone to work Wednesdays and Fridays, 8am-3pm. This could be a perfect fit for a parent or family member looking to work the same hours as their child’s schedule at school. We are looking for a thoughtful, kind, caring adult, who has a lot of patience, a heart for small children, and a commitment to public education. Preschool Paraeducator Posting

The safety of our school environments has always been a top priority in St. Vrain Valley Schools. As the district continues to invest in security upgrades, mental health resources, counselors, and other supports to ensure the well-being and success of our students, we are excited to share that a new Campus Supervisor position will be provided to all elementary schools in the district.

Currently at all middle and high schools in St. Vrain, Campus Supervisors promote safe and secure learning environments for students by providing an additional layer of facility monitoring, oversight, and communication regarding any potential risks or safety concerns. These roles also play an important part in fostering a positive building environment by building relationships with students and serving as another trusted adult in the building.

Our Music, PE, and Art classes are on a 3 day rotation. Every school day is either a Red, Gold, or Purple day. These colors are shared on our school lunch menu to help families plan ahead for necessary supplies like sneakers for PE.

MySchoolBucks is the website you want to access in order to add funds to your child’s account for purchasing breakfast, lunch, or milk at school. This system will send you reminders and can manage the account of multiple students. Money can also be sent to school by check or cash. Please label any checks or cash with the students first name, last name, and teacher.

If you haven’t yet, you can apply for Free & Reduced meals to see if your family qualifies for free meals. Applying for Free & Reduced lunch will help manage fees (like iPad Insurance or sports) and also helps our school receive additional funds and services. We encourage all families to complete the application.

We send almost all of our messaging in Infinite Campus through SMS text messages and emails. You can change your Contact Preferences in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

Navigate to "Settings" and "Contact Preferences". In that section, you will have the opportunity to confirm the accuracy of your phone and email contacts, as well as your "Message Preferences".
