NBHS Morning Announcements

This week, Precast Phase 2 started and the walls were installed for music department classrooms/auditorium as well as the Ag shop. The gym walls have been completed and there is now a steel bridge that links the Dome to the new structure! With the installation of the precast walls this morning, jazz band was relocated to the choir room and band had to meet in the old gym. They were rockin' and singin' "Hey Baby" and other pep band tunes without missing a beat!

On January 19th, NBHS students will head to Malibu Jacks for our Q2 PBIS Celebration! We will depart around 11:45 and return to school by 2:30. Students will need to bring money for refreshments and bowling if the want to bowl. but the cost of admission will be covered thanks to generous donations from the community! If you are looking for a great cause to support, our PBIS Program is a great way to help out!

Student council planned a fun school wide game on Monday 12/18. RO SHAM BO (rock, paper, scissors). The students AND staff had a great time competing! Our top three students - Marisol Rodriguez, Andrew Holloway, and Hailey Hein had to face off, and Andrew Holloway was the RO SHAM BO Champion!! (Pictured below)

Second semester is off to a great start! If your student struggled with academics last semester, here are some opportunities we offer for help:

• 8th Hour Advisory Tutoring – Our National Honor Society students offer peer tutoring from during Advisory. Please contact your child's teacher, Mr. Viola, or me and we will get them signed up for tutoring!

• After School Support –There is a staff member available to help your child from 3:30-4:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with homework. Please contact me if you want your child to take advantage of this support.

• HW/Lunch Detention – Students that are missing several assignments or major projects may be assigned to a homework lunch detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.

• High School HW Advisory Academic Support– High school students may be assigned to a homework advisory detention until they have all missing work completed and are passing all of their classes.
