A note from Mr. Dentel
Dear Union Springs High School families,
As we reflect on the achievements and milestones of the past year, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and partnership in fostering a vibrant educational community at USHS.
As we stand on the brink of a new year, let's look ahead with optimism and aspiration. Together, we have overcome challenges, celebrated successes, and built a foundation for continued growth. In the coming months, may our collective efforts continue to nurture the academic, social, and personal development of each student.
As families, your involvement and commitment play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our students. In the spirit of the new year, let's renew our dedication to collaboration, open communication, and the shared goal of creating an enriching environment for our children.
Wishing you and your families a joyous holiday season and a new year filled with promise, opportunities, and the boundless potential of our Union Springs community.
Warm regards,
Mr. Dentel
Shout Out Club
In response to valuable input gathered during the principal's forum, our Shout Out Club has emerged as a beacon of positivity within our high school community. Committed to fostering a culture of recognition and celebration, this group of enthusiastic students has undertaken the mission of acknowledging the diverse accomplishments of their peers. With a focus on inclusivity and highlighting achievements across various fields, the Shout Out Club strives to create a sense of pride and camaraderie within our school. This initiative not only promotes a positive atmosphere but also reinforces the idea that every achievement, big or small, deserves recognition. The Shout Out Club stands as a testament to the power of collective acknowledgment and the importance of fostering a supportive community within our high school. Shout out to 10th grader Jenny Daum who designed the logo!!!!
Scheduling for 24-25
Embarking on the journey toward the 2024-2025 school year, the scheduling process is already underway, and exciting changes are in motion. As the first step, our counselors are entering classrooms, engaging with students to facilitate discussions about available courses and assisting them in making preliminary selections. This collaborative approach ensures that students are well-informed and empowered to shape their academic paths.
Following this initial phase, the next step involves the construction of a skeleton master schedule. This intricate process aims to accommodate the diverse interests and aspirations of our student body while ensuring a seamless and effective learning experience. As a final touch, students will have the opportunity to participate in individual meetings with their counselors to solidify their schedules for the upcoming school year. Notably, these conclusive sessions are open to parents and guardians, fostering a supportive environment where everyone plays a role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Together, we are building a foundation for a successful and fulfilling academic year ahead.
BOCES Career and Technical Education Visit
Our 10th-grade students are gearing up for a firsthand exploration of career and technical education opportunities at BOCES. Over the next few months, students with a keen interest in specific programs will have the unique chance to visit classes that align with their career aspirations. These immersive experiences aim to provide a glimpse into the dynamic and practical aspects of various vocational fields.
Following these eye-opening visits, participating students will convene for comprehensive discussions to assess their eligibility and suitability for the CTE programs. These meetings serve as a crucial juncture for students to reflect on their interests, aptitudes, and goals, laying the groundwork for informed decisions about their educational and career paths. This proactive approach not only empowers students in making well-informed choices but also emphasizes the significance of hands-on experiences in shaping their future trajectories.
