Patriot Peek at the Week News

This week is Read Across America Week. I encourage all of our families to take just fifteen minutes each evening to read together. Reading to your child, no matter the age is a great way to build your relationship and their comprehension skills. We are planning some exciting events to engage our Wolf Ridge families this spring when the weather is a little warmer. We will provide more information soon. Until then, we will celebrate this week in our classrooms and hope you will join us by focusing on reading at your home, too.

The 8th Grade Night for Boys Basketball and our Patriot Cheerleaders will be on March 3rd. Please contact the office with the names that you would like announced prior to this evening. Again, eighth-grade players and cheerleaders will be allowed to invite two guests to this game.

Girls in 6th-8th grade are invited to join our Junior High Girls Basketball Team. Practice will start on Monday, March 8th from 4:30-6:00 at the Wolf Ridge Gym.

Did you know that you can also participate in track?

Any student in 6th-8th grade can join the Junior High Track Team on Monday, March 8th from 3:00-4:00 at Wolf Ridge.

All athletes need an updated physical to participate. There will not be tryouts for either of these teams unless numbers exceed the allowable number by IESA. We encourage our students to get involved and stay active!

We will share out many more details in the months to come. However, at this time, we would just like to get an idea of how many students would be interested in joining us this summer.

There will be an official sign-up at a later date. All students are welcome to join. If numbers are too great, then we will accept students into our program based on need.

Do you have a child or know a child that will be three or four years old before September 1, 2021? If so, be sure they know about our FREE PreK screenings for the BHCUSD8 Preschool Program. These screenings will take place on March 11th and 12th. Please call the Wolf Ridge Office at 618-585-4831 to schedule a screening.
