The Appleton Echo
Spring Term 1, Week 3
A Word from Mr Broom
As you will see from the photos below, our curriculum has stepped up a gear this week. It's been incredibly exciting in school and we look forward to sharing our achievements at open classrooms in a few weeks time.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
The 1st Appleton Podcast - The Appleton RoePod
We are delighted to launch the first Appleton Roebuck podcast, courtesy of Mr Crump & Miss Brough's amazing Podcast Club. We hope you enjoy listening to it.
This exciting new publication brings a pupil perspective to the life of pupils at Appleton Roebuck Primary School. You do not want to miss it! Listen out for the 'Joke of the Week'; my favourite feature.
Carbon Reduction Certificate Achieved
We've been thinking carefully about the amount of paper and materials we use to help reduce their impact on the environment. This week, we received the following certificate in recognition of this. We've also begun using reusable glue sticks. Every little helps!
Spring Term Learning Overviews
Our teachers have produced the Spring Term Week by Week overviews so that you can see what's happening in class on a weekly basis in each subject area. The full Learning Journey planning is also available on our website.
The Week by Week overviews can really help if you're think of things to do on a weekend or visiting the library.

Car Convos!
Talk is really important for all learners in school and we know that our children are exposed to lots of exciting learning opportunities, both at home and at school. To help develop speaking and listening skills and knowledge of the wider world, we're introducing Car Convos! A topic that we share in the newsletter on a Friday, that families can discuss in the car on their travels. We'll then pick this up after the weekend.
This week in school, we've talked a lot about consent and appropriate physical contact. Our Car Convo this week aims to build on this.
This week's Car Convo:
'When is it ok to hug someone?'

We are a 'Nut Free' School

Thank you for your support with this.
Staff Shout Outs
I've had a few messages from parents/carers asking about how they can send a staff shoutout for a staff team. It's great that you think about them and really does help to raise morale.
