This past election day, the community elected three new board members to the Northern Burlington Board of Education. Congratulations to Mr. Frank Armentante (Mansfield), Mr. Joe Bucs (Springfield) and Mrs. Christina Janis (North Hanover), we look forward to working with all of you and to welcome you during the January Board of Education meeting which will be held on January 2, 2024 in the High School main cafeteria.
With three new board members coming in, we also have three Board Members whose time on the Board of Education will be coming to an end. On behalf of our district, students and community, we would like to thank Ed Nowak (13 Years) Jim Specca (6 Years), Kelly Stobie (1 Year) for their years of service on the Northern Burlington Board of Education. Being a member of the Board of Education is a very important responsibility and we thank them for the time they spent away from their families to help lead our district. The number in the parentheses is the number of years they have served on the Northern Burlington Board of Education.
Middle and High School Updates
ClassH-Room
Earlier this Fall, some of our students and teachers from the Middle School and High School were on the television show ClassH-Room. During the show, students competed against the staff in a friendly game show type competition. Both groups did a great job and you will have to watch both episodes to find out who won. Was it the students? Was it the teachers? Click the links below to find out!!!
Students of the Month
Each month, both schools select a student of the month for each grade level. These students are selected by their teachers and can be chosen for a variety of reasons. Some include but are not limited to, being a good role model, demonstrating good character, carrying out the school motto of being respectful, responsible and ready. During the November Board of Education Meeting, the students of the month for September, October and November were recognized. Congratulations to all of the students who were recognized. Below is a link that will take you to a short video that shows who was recognized and a little about each student.
Educators of the Year
Each year staff from the High School and Middle School select a staff member of the year. These staff members demonstrate exemplary qualities that uphold the epitome of what is expected here at Northern Burlington. We are thankful for the dedication they demonstrate to do whatever is necessary to support their students, their school and our community. This year’s Educators of the Year are:
Middle School Educator of the Year
Dr. David Gallara
High School Educator of the Year
Mr. Gene Graf

Winter Sports Spectators: We are beginning the winter sports season. While we appreciate our students wanting to come out and support their classmates, we are not equipped to provide supervision to student spectators. As a result, students who wish to watch a basketball game or wrestling match must first go home and then return with a responsible adult who will stay with them for the duration of the contest.
PTSC Meeting: The Parent Teacher Student Connection (PTSC) recently met on Thursday, December 7 in the High School Media Center at 6:30 pm. There was a special presentation that focused on mental health for teens and the resources offered by the school. Please see our website for more info about PTSC: www.nburlington.com/page/ptsc

Speaking of cross-country, congratulations to both the boys' and girls' teams as well as their coach, Ryan Rafferty, for winning the Burlington County Scholastic League Championship for the 2023 season. Congratulations to the Northern Burlington Marching Band. In October, the marching band participated in their first competition of the season at Lenape HS. The band placed first in their group and earned best music, best visual and best overall effect. Congratulations to the marching band! We are very proud of your hard work.
Choral Program
We are THRILLED to share that 17 out of 27 students from the NBHS choral program were accepted into the 2023-2024 All South Jersey Chorus after some rigorous auditions last month!
The middle school also achieved incredible success with 5 out of 10 students earning acceptance into the ensemble. In total this year, Northern had just shy of 40 students audition and 22 of those students accepted!!! What an incredible accomplishment for these students and for Northern!
