YOUR MONEY AT WORK– PTC Funds New Library Furniture
At March’s PTC Community Meeting, community members approved $6253 of PTC funds to go towards the updating of new furniture in the CPMS Media Center (library).
Less than two months later, that furniture is now at the school and is being used daily by our Cedar Park student body.
Items purchased include:
- Two new modular couches, plus one more traditional sofa
- Two high tables and eight stools
- A spring-loaded book return bin
Thank you to all our 5K donors who made this possible, as well as Debbie Hernandez in the CPMS library. The PTC hopes this can be the first of many phases of library improvement in the coming years.

CPMS Science Olympiad Place Second at State
7th grader, Gordon C., explains the process. "In Science Olympiad, schools organize a team that will cover over 20 different events. Each team member will be assigned three or four events with a partner. These events fit into two main categories, knowledge and engineering events. Knowledge events, like Anatomy and Physiology, require participants to learn as much as possible with the guidelines given by the officials.
Engineering events on the other hand, usually require participants to build a structure that is trying to achieve a certain within certain constraints. For instance, for this year’s roller coaster event, the participants were tasked with making a structure that made the marble take the longest time to reach the end. This included constraints like dimension, height, etc. For some events, participants are allowed to bring in a cheat sheet or a cheat binder in some cases to store information. Each event was very unique and challenged the students in different and compelling ways."
Bravo to our dedicated team & their staff advisor, Winter Chung!

Parents should remind students that the chromebooks are school property and must be taken care of.
