Many learners have gone above and beyond in our special content areas, and have really shown their creativity, resourcefulness, passions and interests in the work that they've shared with their learning facilitators! Keep up the great work! New work will be featured here each week!

Katie Zook, Kylee Trovinger, 7th graders, and 8th grader Lexi Groff mastered the cup song rhythm and submitted a video! Kylee even taught her siblings how to master the rhythm as well!

Hadassah has gone above and beyond in music class. She loyally attends every zoom and completes everything with great quality and pride in her work. This week, she recorded herself playing on song on piano. She is showing qualities of a reflective and very motivated learner!

Over the closure Kaylee (5th Grade) and her sister Laura (7th Grade) have been working on and performing 5th & 6th Grade Concert Band music at home. Check out their performance of The Tempest by Robert W. Smith!

Learners in 5th & 6th Grade Band have the opportunity to attend individual Zoom lessons, work on and perform music with an app called SmartMusic, and try their hands at sight reading where they perform a piece of music they have only looked at for 2 minutes. The following learners earned their Conductor Badge for showing exemplary work and commitment to band during Week 5:

Each week, artists choose to make art using prompts from our weekly choice board or by following their own interests and passions! Choice-based art is perfectly suited to making art from your home studio.

Here are some examples of what artists are working on:

• Drawing and painting
• Making their own sketchbooks
• Sculpting using natural materials, Legos or recycled materials
• Difference Maker Artists are sharing their chalk art, door decorations, paintings and cards with others
• Culinary Artists are creating works of edible art
• Several artists have made color wheels out of objects at home

These learners showed up and followed through and this is a skill that all of our learners need to have in a digital learning environment. Thank you for taking your work seriously and applying yourself in Family and Consumer Sciences this marking period.

Matthew and Connor Taylor have created a backyard obstacle course to keep active and stay fit!

Brady Petersheim has been CRUSHING his Phys Ed Activity Log! Each week he submits over the recommended two days of physical activity for 30-40 minutes. The activities he completes are full of variety as well. He is definitely going to be quaran-FIT by the end of this! Awesome job Brady!
