I want to start off by thanking our students and staff for the quick support and cooperation in transitioning our students to remote learning on April, 19, 2021. As you know, this was a response to the growing number of COVID 19 cases in our school community. The intent of this short-term switch is to help ensure we continue to have enough teachers available to support students in their learning
As of today, ÉCKS has learned of 15 active cases of COVID 19 connected to our school. This has resulted in a large number of students and staff who are now in quarantine. Some of our students have also been identified as a close contact on their bus from students who do not attend ÉCKS. We believe we have contacted all families of students who have been identified as a close contact.
Our school has undergone a deep cleaning and sanitizing process. Alberta Health Services conducted an Environmental Public Health inspection on April 19, 2021 to reconfirm all of the processes and protocols are being met.
Our priority continues to be on providing a safe and caring environment both in school and out in the community.
Report Cards
Report cards were scheduled to be distributed to students on April 22, 2021. However, with our quick transition and focused response to remote learning starting April 19, 2021, we have made the decision to distribute our report cards when students return to school on May 3, 2021. As always, we appreciate and thank you for your understanding.
