Monster Art Show - Thursday, October 14
The Monster Art Show will be on exhibit from October 14th to 31st.
Thursday, October 14, is for 3rd graders only (Ms. Carden's Class from 5:30-6:30 p.m., Ms. Wiggins' class from 6:45-7:45 p.m.)
The high school artists who created the collaborative pieces with the 3rd graders are also invited the night of October 14.
Saturday, October 30, is the public viewing day which is open to the community.
Ready, Set, Show! is a student choreography challenge and FWAFA Dance Fundraiser. It's like Project Runway or Chopped, but for dance! Our student choreographers will have less than 10 hours to create a dance on their cast. They will receive their cast and music that day and start rehearsing. They may even experience surprise challenges during their rehearsals!
At the end of the challenge, we'll show what they've made at an informal performance on both Saturday night (10/16, 7 p.m.) and Sunday afternoon (10/17, 3 p.m.) at TeSA's Black Box Theater (6025 Village Pkwy, Edgecliff Village, TX 76134).
It's free to reserve your seat in the audience, and we suggest a minimum donation of $5.
Sign up to attend here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050a44a5aa2ca5f94-ready
All donations will directly benefit FWAFA Dance by supporting space and equipment updates as well as fees related to our junior and senior dancers attending Regional High School Dance Festival in 2022.
Please Note: Seating is limited! If you plan to come, you MUST sign up in advance. If you sign up and your plans change, PLEASE take yourself off the sign up!

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Everybody get excited for FWAFA’s upcoming production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It! I know what you're thinking. I just don’t get Shakespeare.
Fear not, our Advanced Acting class is working hard to produce Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it. It’s As You Like It as YOU like it! A fun, timeless, ‘Shakespeare in the Park’ show for just $5.00 a person.
Playing October 28-31 in the FWAFA Green Space.
All tickets are just $5! Get yours here: https://bit.ly/FWAFAasyoulikeit
Each week, the Advanced Acting class will be introducing you to the key characters in the play. This week, it is Orlando and Oliver.
You’ll be in stitches for this Renaissance comedy.
Silvius: Kendrick Booth
Have you ever loved someone who wants nothing to do with you? Silvius knows this more than anyone in the Forest of Arden. Constantly pining over the harsh shepherdess Phoebe, Silvius is lucky to even get a kind word from her. He confides in his older friend, Corin, for advice but always comes up short of something of use. Perhaps someday, all the pieces will fall into place for him.
Corin: Caroline Slaughter
Corin is the old soul of the forest that’s full of boundless (and unending) wisdom. Working under Silvius, Corin spends most of his days tending his sheep and his field, never getting the chance to show off all the knowledge he has acquired over his many years of life. It isn’t until Rosalind and her merry band of misfits show up at his door that he’s able to show off what he can do.

Spelling Bee - Tuesday, November 16
Grade level English teachers will be holding classroom bees some time between now and Friday, November 5th.
Two students from each class period or homeroom will advance to the School Bee on Tuesday, November 16th, which will begin at approximately 8:15 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Study materials are posted in JupiterEd.
Log in to your JupiterEd account and select Materials from the drop down menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Then select School Office from the drop down menu at the top of the screen.
There you will find Spelling Bee 2022 Study Lists 1-3.
Students should study ALL these words if they are hoping to compete in the school bee, since 3rd-8th students compete together at that level.
FWAFA will get to send one elementary student and one middle school student to the Area Bee, which will be held here at FWAFA on Saturday, January 29th.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Spelling Bee Coordinator - Leslie Cook. Her email is leslie.cook@fwafa.org.

TCAA Annual Campaign Underway Now!
Each academic year, the generosity of our faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends helps us add robust and diverse opportunities for over 1,200 students that simply wouldn’t be possible if we relied solely on state funding.
Your gifts help TCA+A cover costs accrued throughout the year and provide the means for us to underwrite, plan, and explore new opportunities for our schools, conservatories, and choirs that would not be possible without community support. Your gifts are used to:
- Provide supplies for our classrooms
- Update and expand our instruction materials
- Pay for technology upgrades
- Reduce the financial burden on our families for activities
- Fund travel for performances for our students
- Underwrite Performances
- Pay for costuming and make up supplies
