Teachers Collaborating Around Student Data
Last week, classroom teachers, special education teachers, and Title teachers met to look at individual student data and talk about instructional practices to best support student learning. Based on progress monitoring data and other forms of data, teachers determine who is and who isn't making adequate progress in reading. If a student isn't making adequate growth, reading success plans are put into place to try to better support that student. Teachers have been working hard putting interventions into place to support students that need them, while still meeting the needs of students that are on track. It is a balance for our teachers and they go above and beyond for our students every day. Our next FastBridge benchmark is in January. Using this benchmark, we will be able to see the growth our students have made from the beginning of the school year up to the middle of the school year.
If your child was placed on a reading success plan at the beginning of the school year, an update will be coming home at the end of the week. This will include progress monitoring data and ways that you can support at home.
