Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Our Year 11 students have worked tremendously hard towards their Drama GCSE and pictured below is a snapshot of the technical run they performed this week.

Subject Highlights:
MFL:
Mrs Sahota has nominated 10B Spanish and would like to congratulate the following students for their excellent contribution in their independent learning tasks and participation in the lessons this week: Gabriela C, Mason, Jana, Danils and Harvey, Well done!
Also nominated are 7CU Spanish class for their excellent participation in the independent speaking activities this week. They worked well in their pairs to complete their dialogues in class. Well done!
Maths:
Mrs Wynn has nominated 10A3 who are working hard every lesson with an extra shout out to Tim who is putting in excellent effort, focus and attempting challenging tasks. Also nominated are 11B2 and 11A2 for stepping out of their comfort zone and working in depth with an exam question. Also 8A1 are so focused and making excellent progress, shown by their latest find the gap scores, with special mention to Crystal and Kevin for obtaining full marks also Jennifer and Finn for being one mark away.
Mr Lee has nominated Year 10 students Josh S and Bo for an excellent attempt of a higher tier exam paper. Also nominated are Year 11 students Mollie, Amelia, Beth, Tye, Katie, Klaudia, Shamiso, George S, Kamila and Darcey for outstanding effort with our unit of work on calculating the best value for money and Leila, Saul, Tearlach, Ruby, Ana, Courtney and April who have been extremely focused revision on Pythagoras theorem.
Humanities:
Mr Hallas has nominated 9SW for an impeccable lesson on tropical rainforest. The level of understanding, particularly on sustainable management, would not be out of place in a GCSE class. Well done, 9SW.
Mr Strumpher has nominated 8CA Geography for really good work in the lessons and doing great work by revising the whole topic. Special mention to Artjom and Daniel who worked really hard in the revision lesson.
Computer Science:
Mr Strumpher would like to say well done to his groups. They had to work in groups and create a PowerPoint presentation about online bullying. They were using the skills that they learned over the last few lessons to do this. In the end they had to present their PowerPoints to the class. They all did really well, and they had some nice presentations. Well done.
Music:
Miss Patrick has made the following nominations this week:
Year 7:
This week year 7 have performed their samba compositions. I have really enjoyed watching students work as a team to create some really interesting pieces. Miss Patrick would like to celebrate 7SI this week, for their ability to listen and respond to each other, this led to performances that were executed very professionally – well done!
Year 8:
Year 8 have performed their Djembe pieces this week and I have been really impressed with how students have structured their pieces. I would like to mention Dawid and Wiktoria from 8CA who have consistently shown how well they are able to work in a group setting. Miss Patrick has been particularly impressed with how they supported other members of their ensemble when they needed help!
Year 9:
This week year 9 have continued to work on their compositions in a minimalist style. Miss Patrick would like to mention Chloe H in 9ST for her creative use of layering this week – excellent work.
Science:
Scientists of the week this week are:
Year 7 student Anna-Louise for her amazing knowledge about particles.
Year 8 student Ryan B for excellent contributions during Science lessons.
Year 9 student Ollie for his excellent questions about the nervous system.
Year 10 student Sarah R for great answers to the questions during Physics.
Year 11 student Grace for great revision work during session 6.
