A Message From Mrs. O'Shaughnessy
I hope everyone enjoyed this long weekend, and for our families and staff who celebrate Rosh Hashanah, I hope it was a wonderful New Year, This two-day Jewish celebration of the New Year literally translates to “head of the year” in Hebrew. It is observed on the first and second days of the Jewish month of Tishrei, the first month in the civil calendar. In 2022, it begins on Monday, September 26, and ends at sundown, Tuesday, September 27.
The students have began taking their MAP Diagnostic Testing and Acadience. MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) help our teachers to understand where each child is by standard. The students will take three diagnostics throughout the year, the beginning of the, the middle of the year and the end of the year. Acadience is the same, but it measures students understanding of letters and sounds for our Kindergarten , grade 1 and grade 2 students. Your child's teacher will share the results of the diagnostics. We are doing I-Ready this year again, and we encourage the student to use the online lessons at home as well.
This week is a short week, but as always a full one! Our PTA is hosting their first meeting of the school year. This will be in person, with a live link as well. I am looking forward to seeing our families! Feel free to bring the kids! We have a special gift for all those who attend.
Any questions, always reach out! Have a great week!
