Dear BMS Families,
Thank you for an amazing start to the 2023-24 school year! Teachers have been going over school-wide expectations and procedures and students and are quickly catching on. It is important to start building routines both in school and at home. Routines are especially important for middle school students, no matter how old or grown-up they think they are. One of our weekly routines involves students checking their grades and missing assignments in PowerSchool. Parents and guardians may also set up their own PowerSchool Accounts in the Parent Portal. If you do not have this set up already, please contact the office and we would be happy to help you.
Our entire school community is settling into our new bell schedule. Shifting back to having every class every day after a few years of block scheduling is probably quite the adjustment for some of our 6th and 7th-grade students. It will be very important to remind students that have P.E. to always have gym shoes, band students should be sure to bring instruments, and for everyone else - a reminder to continue to be prepared with anything they might need definitely would not hurt!
Thank you for your patience during the first week of school at arrival and dismissal. We are continuing to monitor the daily flow and will make adjustments as needed. I know the line can be long, but we try to keep it moving as quickly as possible while keeping everyone safe.
