Message from Mrs. Gilbert & Mr. Ramalho
All students enjoyed our Pretzel Kids YOGA enrichment in PE this week. Additionally, our third graders enjoyed Engineering Day. Thank you to the many parents who volunteered for this event.
We look forward to Author's Day coming up on June 1st as well as our final therapy dog visit. Fit Fest is also scheduled for Thursday with a rain date of Friday. Lots of fun at South Row this week.
It was wonderful to see so many families and students at this year's art show. A special thank you to Mrs. C for putting on a wonderful evening to celebrate our students creativity.
It's still not too late to volunteer for many of the events this week. Click on the volunteer opportunities link to help out!
As a reminder, the last day of school is a half day on June 16th. Students are dismissed at 11:45am on this day.
Enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend, there will be no school Monday, May 30th, 2022.

Caroline will continue with her doctoral studies in clinical psychology at Boston University.
Water Bottles: As the weather gets warmer please remember to pack a water bottle with your child if possible. It is also recommended to remind your child to bring their water bottle to lunch if they do not enjoy milk from the cafe.
Lost and Found: We have a lot of items in our lost and found. We will be putting tables with all of the items out in front of the building at events next week (Authors Day, Fit Fest, etc). Please swing by if you are missing items. Additionally, a video of lost items will be posted on South Row's PTO Facebook as well prior to these end of year events.

Health Screenings
If your student did not pass the vision or hearing screening, I will rescreen them over the next few weeks. If they do not pass a second time, I will send a referral letter home recommending follow up with their pediatrician.
Covid Exposures Reminders:
We are seeing an increase in Covid Cases in our community. You can see the current statistics here on our dashboard.
If your student is fully vaccinated and is exposed to a Covid positive individual, and they do not have symptoms, they do not need to quarantine. Testing on day 5 from exposure is strongly encouraged regardless of symptoms. If your student is exposed and they are not vaccinated, they must quarantine at home for 5 days (exposure date is day 0). They may return to school on day 6, with a mask for days 6-10. Please let me know if your student has been exposed to a Covid positive individual.
At Home Test Kits:
If you would like to sign up for free Covid Tests to be sent home biweekly from the school, please click this link: Student and Staff Opt In/Register for At Home Antigen Testing Program
These kits get sent home in your student(s) backpack every other Friday for FREE!!!
If you signed up for At Home Testing and/or Pool Testing but would like to opt out, please email me at vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us

Art Historian Visit
On Wednesday Emily Francisco, an Art Historian at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC (South Row Alum 2002; CHS class of 2010) visited the Art Show and had a chance to chat with Art Teacher,Mrs. Cristantiello about the AWESOME student art show. Francisco remarked, “It was wonderful to see the art created by South Row students. I recognized some assignments I myself did years ago, like the masks. It was also a joy to see student paintings inspired by two of my favorite artists, Yayoi Kusama and Alma Thomas.”
