Hello NBES Community,
I hope everyone was out enjoying the beautiful autumn weather Saturday! With so many fall activities, the weeks have been flying by. October brings many fun experiences to our students. The instrumental band lessons are starting for students in grades 4-6. The Cool Kids Choir is up and running. And our PTO has planned a Spirit Week (see below for more info).
Please note that grades close for Quarter 1 on Friday, November 3 with report cards going home on Thursday, November 9.
There is no school on Friday, November 10 in observance of Veteran's Day.
Have a great week! π»

Halloween at NBES π§ββοΈ
On Tuesday, October 31, students may wear their costumes to school. Please be sure your childβs costume adheres to the following guidelines:
- No masks or face paintβthis is to ensure studentβs safety for identification purposes.
- No weapons (knives, guns, bows/arrows, etc.)βthese items would be considered inappropriate for a school setting.
- No fake bloodβWe are an elementary school that houses preschoolers to grade 6. Please keep in mind that our younger students will be frightened by some costumes.
In general, please use your judgment to determine if a costume is elementary school appropriate. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at (508) 867-8326.
Regarding Halloween party treats and candy:
- Please do not send in any edible treats for the class on Halloween. You are welcome to send in little favors if you like, but our Wellness Policy has strict guidelines on food in the classrooms.
- After Halloween, please do not allow your child to bring in their entire candy bag. Limit your child to 2-3 pieces of candy for snack or lunchtime and leave the rest at home.
- Remind your child not to share candy or treats with their friends. While this is considered a kind gesture, it can also have serious health consequences as we have a number of children with various allergies. Students should only eat the candy they bring in themselves.
