All parents & guardians are invited to join us for a Coffee & Conversation event with our Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Santora on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Nixon Elementary School Media Center. We hope to see you there!

Effective immediately, Van 52 (for dismissal) will now permanently ride Van 59. Bus Tags will be changed for all students impacted and Genesis should reflect the update as of this weekend. Any questions, please call our Transportation Department at (973) 584-6756. Thank you.

Back to School Night is an opportunity for parents, guardians, caregivers, and NES staff to connect with the intent of sharing information regarding the learning experience available in the Roxbury School District, as well as the varied supports available and the varied routines related to each individual instructional setting. If parents, guardians, and/or caregivers would like specific information or feedback regarding their individual student, it is requested that they call or email the respective staff member to schedule a time outside of Back to School Night to talk.

Additionally, pleaes keep in mind that the evening is intended for parents, guardians, and caregivers.

This week the staff, students, and visitors of Nixon School successfully engaged in a school security drill entitled - Lockdown. A Roxbury Public Schools Security Guard was present for the drill, which went very smoothly. Students, staff and parent volunteers are commended for their response.

Families of last year's third and fourth graders can expect to receive their students' Individual NJSLA Score Reports as early as next weekend (September 23) or as late as the beginning of the week of September 25. Following is information that will also be included in the envelope, which is being mailed via USPS...

During the 2023-2024, Nixon School will have a segment on our internally live streamed Morning Annoucements that focuses on our district's monthly Sustainability Themes. Every Nixon School student has the opportunity to be a part of this effort.

All it takes is a student, possibly along with their family, working together to complete and submit this form with a suggested, BRIEF Public Service Announement focused on one of our Sustainability themes. Suggested PSA's will be considered and then potentially scheduled to take place during the respective month.

We look forward to our students being stewards of our community's sustainability efforts.
